BANA to Hold 2023 Fall Meeting October 25–27
at Perkins School for the Blind
The Braille Authority of North America (BANA) will hold its 2023 fall meeting in Watertown, MA, October 25 through 27. Perkins School for the Blind, a BANA member association, is hosting the meeting, which will be held in the Grousbeck Center for Students and Technology on the Perkins campus.
On Wednesday, October 25, and Thursday, October 26, the meeting will be held from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. On Friday, October 27, BANA will meet from 9:00 AM till noon. The location is 175 North Beacon Street, Watertown, MA, 02472.
This semi-annual face-to-face meeting follows BANA’s spring meeting, which was held at the Library of Congress, May 8 through 10. That meeting was held in conjunction with the DAISY Consortium, which gathered for its Annual General Meeting at the same time and location.
Items on the BANA Board’s fall agenda include a review of formal reports from BANA's technical committees, such as Nemeth, Chemistry, and Tactile Graphics, as well as its general committees and task forces, such as the BANA General Committee on UEB and the Outreach Committee. BANA members will act on recommendations and will issue committee charges when appropriate.
Interested parties are invited to observe the BANA Board’s semiannual meetings. If you are interested in attending as an observer, please contact BANA Chair Jen Goulden at 613-552-4191 or by email at email@example.com.
The mission of the Braille Authority of North America is to assure literacy for tactile readers through the standardization of braille and/or tactile graphics.
